Description
Summary:Two methods of calf raising were compared one of which involved a total of approximately ninety litres of whole milk compared with approximately 190 litres. Although calves fed the higher level grew better to 12 weeks of age when weight gain was considered calves fed the lower level maintained as satisfactory growth rate. No significant differences could be demonstrated between other growth parameters and it is concluded that a system of early weaning is practical for the adverse conditions under which the experiment was carried out
