Frecuencia del gen P en cultivares latinoamericanos de frijol blanco

To determine the frequency of the pigmentation, P, in the seedcoat of 17 Latin American white-seeded cultivars of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), a pure line of each was crossed with ´Smith-2151´, a P-white line. All the cultivars turned out to lack P but to carry complementary color genes.
