El estudio es un meta-análisis global sobre el carbono orgánico del suelo en el Antropoceno, basado en más de 25,000 estudios primarios. Examina cómo el cambio de uso del suelo, la gestión de la tierra y el cambio climático afectan los niveles de carbono orgánico del suelo.
