| Summary: | A study was conducted at Turrialba, Costa Rica to determine the incidence, severity and progress curves of mildew (Oidrum manihotis P. Hem.) and scab (Sphaceloma sp.) in cassava cultivated under different systems. The species and varieties used were cassava (Manihot esculenta var. Valenvia), sweet potato, (Ipomoea batata var C-15), common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris var. CATIE-1) and corn (Zea mays var. Tuxpeño planta baja). The crops were planted in five different treatments cassava alone, cassava associated with sweet potato; cassava associated with common bean, cassava associated with corn, and cassava associated with both corn and common bean.
