| Sumario: | Experimental results of the inhibitory activity of three new lactones on palm growth are presented. The lactones are partenina, achylline (sesquiterpenlactones), and engarzasadine (a diterpenlactone). This activity includes inbibition of radicle development in germinating seeds and embryos of several plants cultured in vitro. Grower was also inhibited in Hoagland solution and the respiration rate was depressed. |
