Description
Summary:Work based on futher collections of herbarium specimens and extensive field observations throughout the range suggests that the species complex Cedrela “oaxacensis” as defined by Earle Smith in 1960, with large capsules and pink flowers, is best treated as three separate species. The three species C. oaxacensis CDC. & Rose, C salvadorensis Standl and C. tonduzii CDC are redefined and described botanically. Phenological and ecological data are also presented to support their maintenance as separate taxa.
