Con el fin de evaluar el fruto del caulote (Guazuma ulmifolia, Lam) como alimento, se alimentó a novillos Holstein con ensilado de maíz solo y suplementado con un concentrado que contenía 0, 15, 30 y 45% de harina de caulote. La digestibilidad de la materia seca determinada en 9 novillos fue la misma para la ración de control y para la ración que contenía un 55,8% de harina de caulote, pero la digestibilidad de la proteína y la fibra bruta fue inferior para esta última ración.
