The variety with the most response to plant density was Puebla 152 with a mean field of 3.12 t/ha. The variety with the lowest yield was P 006 with a mean of 2.7 t/ha. The variety Porrillo Sintético responded positively up to a density of 24 plants/m3, after which yield began to disminish. |

Durante el segundo semestre de 1976 se sembraron cuatro variedades de frijol común (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) de hábito indeterminado a cuatro densidades; 6, 12, 14 y 48 x 104 plantas/ha en un sitio adecuado. Las variedades sembradas fueron Ica Pijao, Porillo Sintetico, Puebla 152 y P 006. Las dos primeras variedades son de hábito de crecimiento indeterminado o guía corta (Tipo I), mientras que las otras son también de hábito de crecimiento indeterminado o guía larga pero no trepadoras (Tipo IlI). La variedad con mayor respuesta a la densidad de plantas fue Puebla 152 con una media de campo de 3,12 t/ha. La variedad con menor rendimiento fue P 006 con una media de 2,7 t/ha.
