Tile final exam was made at 22 hours of the equilibration time. The parameters studied were motility, percentaje of live-dead sperms. acrosome morphology and the release of the intracelular glutamie oxaloacetic Iransaminase (G.O.T.) enzyme. The higest sperm mortality in the prefreezing stage was at 22 hours, but the survival after thawing gave the best results at 4 and 22 hours and the minimun values at the first hour of the equilibration period. The G.O.T. analisis showed the higest release of the enzyme when semen was frozen at 2 hours and the minor value at 4 hours, but it was not statistically significant with the other hours of freezing. The minimum acrosomic damage was obtained during the freezing at 2 hours and at 4 hours and it was observed the higest percentaje of motility. En este trabajo se persiguió determinar el momento óptimo para la congelación del semen, se realizaron 1.440 análisis en muestras provenientes de 3 toros Holstein, un Normando y un San Martinero, estudiándose todos los estados de la operación de congelación, desde que se agregó el semen la solución isotónica de citrato de sodio, yema de huevo, antibióticos y después de Ia adición del diluyente glicerolado a intervalos de una hora pre y post-congelación, haciéndose el examen final a las 22 horas. Se midieron: movilidad, proporción vivos/muertos, morfología del acrosoma y liberación de la enzima intracelular Transaminasa glutãrnica-Oxaloacética (G.O.T.). De estos parámetros se obtuvo una medida de supervivencia espermática adecuada. La mortalidad espermática precongelación alcanzó un máximo a las 22 horas, pero su supervivencia después de la congelación alcanzó los valores más altos a las 4 y 22 horas y el mínimo a la primera hora del periodo de equilibrio. El análisis de G.O.T. mostró la mayor liberación de enzima at congelar a las 2 horas y el menor valor al congelar a las 4 horas sin ser estadísticamente significativo con respecto a las otras horas de congelación. El menor daño acrosómico so obtuvo al congelar a las 3 horas. A las 4 horas se observó el mayor porcentaje de movilidad.
