The application of P increased significantly the number of pods per plant and total yields, but had no effect on filling pods. The highest yields (2.070 kg/Ha of peanut in shell) were obtained with 150 kg of 2 5 /Ha. Liming decreased the number of unfilled pods, had no effect on the number of pods but increased yields significantly. The most effective and economic rate of lime was 2.0 ton/Ha. Addition of N and K produced no significant increase in the number of pods, filling of pods and yields Entre 1970 y 1974 se efectuaron cinco experimentos de campo en un suelo extremadamente ácido y de fertilidad baja, correspondiente at paisaje de las terrazas altas de los Llanos Orientales, con el fin de estudiar el efecto de las aplicaciones de cal agrícola, N, P y K sobre el número de cápsulas por planta y rendimiento del maní en cascara, variedad Tatui-76. Se estudiaron cinco (5) dosis de cal agrícola (0-0,5-1,0- 2,0 y 3,0 t/Ha); siete dosis de N: (0-20-40-60-80-100-120 kg/Ha), empleando urea del 4617o de N; cinco (5) dosis de P2 05 (0-50-100-150 y 200 kg/Ha) utilizando el superfosfato triple del 467o de P2 05 ; y cuatro (4) dosis de potasio (0-40-80 y 120 kg de K2 0/Ha) usando cloruro de potasio del 60% de K2 0. Se empleó el diseño experimental de bloques al azar en arreglo factorial con tres replicaciones.
