Description
Summary:Boron (B) is one of the essential micronutrients for the optimum growth, development, yield, and quality of crops. B deficiency and excess are both widespread agricultural problems for higher plants in arid and semi-arid conditions. This element plays an important role in promoting the growth and productivity of crops under challenging environmental conditions by regulating water balance and enhancing the plant’s ability to withstand drought stress. However, it is still unclear how B interacts with plant water relations, gas exchange and hormonal response to drought stress. The aim of this study was to determine the role of B content in irrigation water on plant water relations, gas exchange and hormonal response of ‘Carrizo’ citrange [Citrus sinensis (L.) Osb. × Poncirus trifoliata L.] seedlings under drought stress conditions.
