Martínez-Calvo, José Gómez-Martínez, Helena Zuriaga, Elena ‘Dama Taronja’ and ‘Dama Rosa’ are mid-early ripening apricot cultivars (Prunus armeniaca L.) obtained in the frame of the apricot breeding program developed at IVIA. They have optimal productivity levels, excellent fruit quality, selfcompatibility and resistance to sharka (Plum pox virus), a serious limiting factor for apricot fruit production in affected areas. Their fruits have excellent organoleptic characteristics, and they improve notably the size of the traditional Valencian cultivars. These two varieties showed a good adaptability to the climatic conditions in the Mediterranean area, characterized in the last 5 cropping years by low chilling hours in winter and drier conditions that usual, making them as good candidates for breeding and research on climate change. 2019-05-15T10:37:40Z 2019-05-15T10:37:40Z 2018 article acceptedVersion Badenes, M.
