La transformación de los sistemas de cultivo hacia la intensificación sostenible (IS) es fundamental para atender las demandas de la sociedad. En la región pampeana de Argentina, la mayor parte de la investigación agrícola se ha centrado en la ecofisiología de los cultivos y los factores agronómicos, aunque lo que parece faltar es una evaluación integrada de los sistemas de cultivo para determinar su alineación con las tendencias de SI. Los métodos de análisis multicriterio (MCDA) proporcionan un marco formal para evaluar las ventajas y desventajas entre la producción y la sostenibilidad, haciéndolos útiles para el análisis SI. Este artículo tiene como objetivo comparar y clasificar los sistemas de cultivo disponibles en la pampa ondulada, el cinturón de maíz de Argentina, en función de su alineación con las trayectorias del SI, utilizando el modelo de decisión multicriterio “Preference Ranking Organization Methods for Enrichment Evaluations” (PROMETHEE ).
