Multi-criteria analysis (MCDA) methods provide a formal framework to assess trade-offs between production and sustainability, rendering them useful for SI analysis. This paper aims to compare and rank the cropping systems available in the rolling Pampas, the corn belt of Argentina, based on their alignment with SI trajectories, using the multi-criteria decision model “Preference Ranking Organization Methods for Enrichment Evaluations” (PROMETHEE).

En la región pampeana de Argentina, la mayor parte de la investigación agrícola se ha centrado en la ecofisiología de los cultivos y los factores agronómicos, aunque lo que parece faltar es una evaluación integrada de los sistemas de cultivo para determinar su alineación con las tendencias de SI. Los métodos de análisis multicriterio (MCDA) proporcionan un marco formal para evaluar las ventajas y desventajas entre la producción y la sostenibilidad, haciéndolos útiles para el análisis SI.
