To induce sprouting two gibberellin inhibitors, uniconazole-P (UP) and prohexadione-calcium (PC), were applied to foliage of white Guinea yam (Dioscorea rotundata) and water yam (D. alata) 30 days before harvest or to tubers at harvest.
