Se revisan en detalle los diversos aspectos relacionados con la nutrición mineral del arroz, con énfasis en las funciones y la distribución de los elementos esenciales para la planta. Estos elementos son: nitrógeno, fósforo, potasio, calcio, magnesio, azufre, silicio, hierro, zinc, cobre, manganeso, molibdeno y boro. Se señala que en el cultivo del arroz (y en todos los cultivos) una nutrición adecuada implica un equilibrio en las cantidades de los diferentes nutrientes que se aplican al suelo y que tomará la planta.
