(CIAT) Se determino la rentabilidad de diferentes arreglos bajo los cuales se puede cultivar yuca, maiz y caupi en los municipios de Betulia y Corozal (Sucre, Colombia). Se utilizaron yuca var. Venezolana (regional), maiz ICA V.109 y caupi Seleccion Palmira (arbustiva). La produccion de yuca vario entre 14.0 y 9.4 t/ha para los semestres A y B de 1987. El rendimiento total de los diferentes arreglos vario de 10.9 t/ha para yuca//maiz-caupi en hileras dobles a 14.9 t/ha para yuca//maiz en hileras sencillas. Por tanto, la produccion de yuca fue menor cuando se sembro en hileras dobles intercaladas con maiz y/o caupi al aumentar el no. de especies en los arreglos. Todos los arreglos sembrados en hileras sencillas produjeron los mayores beneficios netos.
