Se discuten los principales sistemas de cultivo, las tierras disponibles, los factores socioeconomicos, los niveles de produccion, la productividad, las importaciones y la estructura de precios y mercados. La yuca es poco conocida en Montserrat; se cultiva especificamente para elaborar pan de yuca durante las festividades. Raramente se siembra en cultivo puro pero se cultiva a los bordes de las parcelas y en los contornos intercalado con guandul, batata y aroides. Entre las recomendaciones esta la de adelantar mas estudios sobre yuca para mejorar su produccion e introducir el procesamiento en pequena escala.
