(CIAT) Se realizaron ensayos exploratorios de fertilizacion (0-0-0 y 40-60-0 de NPK), densidad (90,000 y 120,000 plantas/ha), y control de malezas (2 y 3 deshierbas manuales, resp.) en campos de agricultores en la costa de Ancash, Peru, para determinar su efecto en el rendimiento del frijol en monocultivo. Se encontraron diferencias significativas entre tratamientos y una relacion entre los factores fertilidad y densidad. El control de malezas no fue efectivo. Los tratamientos de mayor cantidad de fertilizantes y mayor densidad de poblacion produjeron la mayor rentabilidad.
