(CIAT) El Vivero Centroamericano de Adaptacion y Rendimiento de Frijol permite mantener un flujo permanente de materiales mejorados, var. comerciales comunes, lineas promisorias y testigos locales mediante la colaboracion entre CIAT y los programas nacionales. Segun el color del grano, los ensayos se dividen en 2 grupos: 1) grano rojo, donde se obtuvieron materiales sobresalientes (RAB 204, RAB 50, Centa Izalco y DOR 364) y 2) grano negro, donde se obtuvieron materiales como ICTA Precoz 3, ICTA Ostua, Negro Huasteco e ICTA CU 85-15. Se indican los paises participantes y las caracteristicas del vivero en cuanto a var. en estudio, diseno exptl., toma de datos y manejo. Se sugiere que el intercambio de materiales se realice directamente a traves de los programas nacionales, para lo cual se definen los objetivos y caracteristicas de los Viveros Nacionales de Adaptacion y Rendimiento (VINAR).
