(CIAT) Durante 1984-85, CIAT-Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA) sembraron 98 ensayos en 4 areas de Colombia (Antioquia oriental, y sur, centro y norte de Narino). Estos ensayos fueron de 5 tipos: var., exploratorios, determinacion de niveles economicos, verificacion y de manejo por los agricultores. Tambien fue importante la expansion de la capacitacion en investigacion a nivel de finca y de la participacion en actividades de la red. El ICA libero la var. Frijolica 0-3.2 para climas frios y la var. Frijolica LS-3.3 para climas moderadamente frios, como resultado directo de las recomendaciones derivadas de la investigacion a nivel de finca desarrollada por ICA-CIAT.
