To do so, an alternative method was chosen of defining climatic limits for the disease. A growing season temp. between 17-22 degrees Celsius and a daily rainfall of 1.5 mm/day were chosen. Total at-risk bean production amounts to 57 percent of the total target area production. Growth habits of Phaseolus vulgaris are briefly described and accessions of Phaseolus referred to in this report are listed. (CIAT) |

(CIAT) La actividad principal se oriento a la validacion de la informacion climatica basica y a la correccion de errores; se desarrollo una tecnica sensitiva para detectar errores sobre la base de las amplitudes relativas de las frecuencias alta y baja del transformador Fourier. El programa deseaba obtener la caracterizacion y enumeracion de las areas susceptibles al ataque de la antracnosis (Colletotrichum lindemuthianum), incluyendo datos de produccion; para ello se escogio el metodo alternativo de definir limites climaticos para la misma. Se escogieron para el periodo de crecimiento una temp. de 15-22 grados centigrados y una precipitacion de 1.5 mm/dia. El total de la produccion de frijol amenazada por la antracnosis asciende al 57 por ciento de la produccion total del area objetivo del programa. Se describen brevemente los habitos de crecimiento de Phaseolus vulgaris y se enumeran las accesiones de Phaseolus registradas en este informe.
