Farmer's decision regarding var. selection depends on the existing markets on which the farmer has no individual influence. The early evaluation by the farmer of the technologies being tested is important to get the farmer's opinion and identify acceptability limitations due to management problems. The presence of farmers during planting determines the later understanding of the different technologies being tested. There must be a 100 percent participation of the farmer in both planting and harvesting. In general, the treatments identified as best by the growers were the best in a yield hierarchy. (CIAT) |

(CIAT) Para determinar el grado de conveniencia de la participacion de los agricultores en los diferentes tipos de ensayo (var., var. de maiz x var. de frijol, tratamiento de la semilla, intensificacion del ciclo, fertilizacion, beneficios de la inoculacion y la verificacion) sembrados en el sur de Narino (Colombia) en 1985B, se realizo una encuesta a 28 agricultores en el momento de la cosecha de frijol para hacer la evaluacion mas sistematica, y determinar cuales actividades necesitan mas decision por parte del agricultor y mejorar estos aspectos. La decision del agricultor por la seleccion de var. esta condicionada a los mercados existentes y sobre los cuales no puede influir en forma individual. La evaluacion por el agricultor en etapas tempranas es de gran importancia para clarificar como le parecen las tecnologias en cuestion e identificar limitaciones de aceptabilidad por problemas de manejo. La presencia de los agricultores durante la siembra representa el entendimiento posterior de las diferentes tecnologias evaluadas. En la siembra y la cosecha se debe contar con un 100 por ciento de participacion del agricultor. En general, los mejores tratamientos identificados por el agricultor fueron los mejores en orden de rendimiento.
