Sumario:The document describes the traditional method of keeping small ruminants in south-western Nigeria, and shows initial steps for future development. Topical discussions on the production systems (traditional and modified), marketing, and improvement possibilities included. The animals' health situation and the quality of fodder during dry season are identified as the most constraining factors in improving the keeping of small ruminants.
