Sumario:Two Theileria species of cattle, T. parva and T. annulata are amongst the most highly pathogenic protozoan parasites of mammals, causing over 90 percent mortality in susceptible Bos taurus types of cattle. This paper discusses and presents the losses due to East Coast Fever and theileriosis, main vectors that transmit the disease and the complex of theileria infections which generally causes benign theilerios. It also summarises the main method of controlling pathogenic theileriosis including chemical and biological.
