Summary:This paper discusses the economic value of livestock, CGIAR priorities and strategies, and relevance of CGIAR activities to AAAP (Asian-Australasian Association of Animal Production Societies) region. The paper assesses the relative importance of livestock products in developing regions, and global and ecoregional roles of CGIAR for international research centres. The value of livestock product by developing region and agroecological zone (1988-89), and the allocation of ILCA research and research - related activities by CGIAR priority categories (1992) are also presented.
