Descripción
Sumario:This study of Irrigation Management and Crop Diversification is being carried out under a Technical Assistance Agreement (T.A. No.846-SRI) dated 27 November 1987, between the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (GOSL), the International Irrigation Management Institute (IIMI) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The study is being implemented by IIMI in the Kirindi Oya and Uda Walawe projects in southern Sri Lanka in close collaboration with the agencies in charge of development and management of these projects. It addresses, through field-level research, priority issues of importance and relevance of the two projects in the processes of irrigation system management, with particular attention given to the requirements of crop diversification.
