| Sumario: | Colombia’s "Obras por Impuestos" framework, which traditionally funds infrastructure, has been successfully piloted in the conflict-affected Caquetá region to finance integrated climate action and biodiversity conservation. By fostering collaboration between the private sector and government institutions, the initiative demonstrated that domestic fiscal mechanisms can be repurposed to support ecosystem restoration and community resilience. Despite regulatory and technical challenges, this "nature-for-peace" model now serves as a blueprint for using existing financial tools to drive inclusive environmental and social progress. |
