| Summary: | This research brief evaluates capacity sharing approaches through Communities of Practice (CoPs) in the CGIAR Genebanks and their contribution to institutional change in national partner organizations. Based on surveys and focus group discussions with CGIAR scientists and national partners, the study finds that CoPs effectively strengthen technical skills, institutional protocols, and regional collaboration, while highlighting persistent challenges related to follow-up support, leadership development, and gender inclusion. The brief provides evidence-based recommendations to enhance co-designed training, inclusive participation, and long-term institutional impact, reinforcing CGIAR’s commitment to equitable partnerships and sustainable conservation of plant genetic resources.
