Collaborating with technical experts and policymakers from Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Tanzania, the strategy employs advanced geospatial technology and earth observation data to assess livestock vulnerability across three pillars: exposure to climate stressors, sensitivity of systems, and adaptive capacity.
The workshop culminated in a four-point roadmap focused on creating a shared regional vulnerability framework and identifying high-risk areas to guide policy-relevant interventions. By establishing a regional technical working group, the partnership aims to integrate geospatial intelligence into national resilience plans, ensuring a predictable and secure future for livestock-dependent communities in the face of escalating climate shocks.
