| description | The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) has been testing the adaptation pioneers approach in the Program for Climate-Smart Livestock (PCSL) in African countries such as Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia. Interventions in the field have identified a significant human resource pool in these countries with potential capabilities to boost the processes of replication and scaling up of good climate change adaptation practices to a broader level.
This process was facilitated in Colombia with support from Bioversity International and the Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT within the framework of the RUTAS PDET program in the Department of Caquetá. The Regional Corporation PROCASUR joined in 2023 based on its experience with the rural talents agents of change approach. The program focused its interventions on 300 producer households linked to the RUTA PDET livestock project in El Paujil, La Montañita, Puerto Rico and San Vicente del Caguán municipalities. |
