Sumario:In Bangladesh, the majority of the people suffer from a lack of food security. As a short-run solution to the problem, a targeted intervention of transferring income can be an efficient way of increasing the real incomes of the poor. Distributing rationed food to a target group at subsidized prices is a well-known way to transfer income. This report evaluates the operational performance of the Palli (rural) Rational (PR) program in Bangladesh, which is a targeted intervention to provide food security to the rural poor.
