Sumario:The institutional capacity assessment focused on the management of rangeland resources in Baringo County, which is primarily an agro-pastoral and pastoral area. The region has a mix of privatized and communal land ownership. Communal grazing remains a common practice, with designated grazing areas managed as community resources. The communities are organized into various entities including conservancies, Community Forest Associations (CFAs), and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs). The assessment highlighted differences in institutional development and rangeland management across these entities as of January 2022 at the start of the Livestock and Climate Initiative.
