Description
Summary:The ASSP was developed after a comprehensive review of the DSIP and is currently Uganda’s principal instrument for implementing the CAADP/Malabo commitments. The ASSP has four broad objectives: (1) increasing production and productivity, (2) increasing access to critical farm inputs, (3) improving value addition and marketing, and (4) strengthening the MAAIF’s institutional capacity and agencies as well as the production sector in local governments. The ASSP analyzes current and future challenges and opportunities and identifies national targets of key value chains—as well as Uganda’s comparative advantage in these value chains—that will make the country food secure and transform agriculture by 2020.
