Summary:The CGIAR Climate Resilience Initiative (ClimBeR) has contributed evidence on climate security risks and best-bet mitigation practices to an African Union-led report slated to inform a Common African Position on climate, peace, and security. ClimBeR research has also informed the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) - CAEP’s forthcoming regional adaptation strategy, which will support IGAD member states to address climate security risks. ClimBeR has also trained more than 250 African policymakers and climate negotiators to ensure more resilient and peaceful societies.
