| Sumario: | The National Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Network (NARRDN) in the Philippines is one of the largest in Asia. It consists of more than 175 organizations and more than 4800 graduate-level scientists, spread out over more than 7100 islands in a country extending more than 1800 kilometers from north to south. A major management challenge for the NARRDN in the remainder of the 1990s will be to mold its vast and dispersed resources into an even more efficient whole. One of the most effective tools for doing so can be improved information. President Ramos has identified the accelerated introduction of new information technology as a top national priority. |
