Description
Summary:This metadata form provides a description of the datasets for the AQTEVET project. The study was conducted in Luapula, Lusaka and Northern Provinces of Zambia and was conducted between 1st and 11th February 2022. The study employed a mixed-method design encompassing qualitative and quantitative approaches. Primary data collection instruments were Key Informants Interviews (KII), Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and survey questionnaires. The study had two components. In component one, the study sampled 41 students who had been fully trained with the upgraded curriculum, completed their studies and awaiting their graduation ceremony. This was done using purposive sampling because students who had been introduced to the AQTEVET project’s activities were prioritised. In component 2, individual smallholder farmers were samples from the list of the five Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs) – Kasakalabwe Multipurpose Cooperative Society, ADSEK Enterprise Limited, Hopeways and General Dealers, Tripple Blessings Centre and Aller Aqua Zambia that received project support. A total of 54 member (37 female, 17 male) from 6 fish farming cooperatives took part in the 6 FGDs. Two of the cooperative groups were women cooperatives. In the survey, 214 smallholder farmers participated. Key informants interviews for both components were purposively selected.
