Summary:Livestock production is the main source of income for thousands of rural families. Extreme climate events such as drought have a strong impact on their livelihoods. Therefore, efficient use of water is critical. More than 300 producers in the department of Caquetá in Colombia are implementing a water harvesting strategy that will allow them to be prepared for future droughts, improving their livestock productivity and conserving watersheds. These producers are already seeing the benefits and are inspiring others to implement a series of adaptation strategies to climate variability.
