description The Department of Agriculture of the Philippines through its Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) Program is utilizing CIAT’s Climate Risk Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) framework for the establishment of climate-resilient agri-fisheries livelihoods and communities (e.g. AMIA villages). The framework enables evidence-based spatial targeting of agricultural extension and financial investment in areas most at risk. The 17 regions of the Philippines count already with CRVA, 10 regions have established AMIA villages and the remaining 7 will establish theirs in 2019.
