| description | There is a need to overcome systemic bottlenecks to facilitate agri-data management, access, and sharing. Among the possible measures recommended by various studies is the development and establishment of national ag- data hub. Understanding the gaps, needs, constraints, and priorities of partners is essential to co-define contextualized interventions that are timely and useful. One of the key activities is thus be to engage with partners in order to consult them on data and infrastructure needs and requirements in order to facilitate co-creation. As a part of “Accelerating the Impact of CGIAR Climate Research in Africa” (AICCRA) project, one of the prerequisites for ag-data hub development is data ecosystem Mapping, which includes inventory and mapping of agricultural related data issues and data holding institutions. To build the data infrastructure and data hub, it is
essential to identify, map and engage with the key stakeholders/partners who have a stake, linkage, and are associated with the agri and agri-related data of the country. Hence, this report provides an overview of the available agriculture and agriculture-related data from various organizations in the country. Furthermore, the report assesses the agri-data landscape – who owns what data, in what format, whether the data can be accessible, existing data management and sharing barriers, and
enabling environments. |
