Summary:FAO is assisting the Government of Suriname in preparing an Agricultural Disaster Risk Management Plan and supports the upscaling of slected climate smart agricultural practices in the context of a regional project "Improving technical and institutional capacities for disaster and climayte risk management and sustainable agriculture in Jamaica, Guyana and Suriname (TCP/SLC/3603). IICA is also assisting the Government of Suriname with a Project "Reducing Farmer Vunerability to Climate Change Impacts through the Promotion of Climate Smart Agricultural Technologies in Suriname". The project is funded by the European Union through the Global Climate Change Alliance+ facility managed by the UNDP. To maximize outcomes, FAO and IICA will collaborate towards the preparation national DRMP.
