“…Con el fin de generar repuestas a esta interesante temática sobre la diversificación en el país, se realizó el presente trabajo en Nicaragua en el año 2020 teniendo como objetivo principal analizar la diversificación de la producción agropecuaria desde 1980 hasta 2018,las variables en estudios son: producción, rendimientos, valor de la producción, exportación y precios, para ello se utilizaron bases de datos del SIECA,CEPAL, FAO, CATIE y BCN, se construyeron cálculos como agrupación de datos, coeficiente de regresión y modelos de correlación, los resultados obtenidos demostraron que Nicaragua es el país que mayor exporta productos de origen agropecuario sin procesar y su competitividad en la región es reducida, otro de los hallazgos encontrados revela que la agricultura sigue siendo tradicional; el maíz, el frijol y el sorgo son los cultivos que más área han ocupado a lo largo de los años, sin embargo, sus rendimientos son bajos, de modo que el incremento de uso del suelo no garantiza aumentar la productividad, ya que los cultivos que reportan mayor rendimiento en el país son caña de azúcar, banano y tomate, ocupando menor cantidad de área, por otro lado la variación de los precios del año 2012 con relación al 2006 han sido desfavorables para los productores quienes son lo más afectados con la volatilidad de los precios, dicha eventualidad limita su capacidad adquisitiva, provocando la reducción de oportunidades para diversificar su producción y mejorar su calidad de vida, no obstante la comercialización directa del producto se convierte es una de las principales estrategias para afrontar dicha realidad, porque se reduzca sustancialmente el número de intermediarios, logrando obtener un precio justo por sus productos.…”
