Testcross performance and combining ability of early-medium maturing quality protein maize inbred lines in Eastern and Southern Africa
Publicado 2024“…This study was conducted to (i) assess the performance of single-cross QPM hybrids that were developed from elite inbred lines using line-by-tester mating design and (ii) estimate the general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability of the QPM inbred lines for grain yield, agronomic and protein quality traits. One hundred and six testcrosses and four checks were evaluated across six environments in ESA during 2015 and 2016. …”

Effects of extension service on the uptake of climate-smart sorghum production practices: insights from drylands of Ethiopia
Publicado 2024“…Unlike previous studies that investigated a single technology, we considered a bundle of technologies. We focused on the use of two capital-intensive CRPs (drought-resistant seed and inorganic fertilizer) and four knowledge-intensive CRPs (minimum tillage, farmyard manure, water-saving technology, and crop residue retention). …”

PRINCIPAL COMPONENT ANALYSIS AND ESTIMATED BREEDING VALUES FOR SELECTING SUITABLE PARENTAL GENOTYPES IN RICE (ORYZA SATIVA L.)
Publicado 2023“…The first five principal components (PC1, PC2, PC3, PC4, and PC5) represented more than 70% (75.1%) contribution to the variability of the data. Three hundred fifty-three rice genotypes incurred distribution into five clusters over three environments. …”

Multiple mechanisms for enhanced plasmodesmata density in disparate subtypes of C-4 grasses
Publicado 2018“…Proliferation of plasmodesmata (PD) connections between bundle sheath (BS) and mesophyll (M) cells has been proposed as a key step in the evolution of two-cell C4 photosynthesis; However, a lack of quantitative data has hampered further exploration and validation of this hypothesis. …”
