Achieving the sustainable development goals in agriculture: The crucial role of nitrogen in cereal-based systems
Publicado 2020“…Nitrogen, mostly in its reactive form as fertilizer or synthetic N, governs the food production, and reconciles the productivity with economic and environmental considerations. However, N flows in the production system involves a large N leaking to the environment resulting in abysmally low nitrogen use efficiencies and environmental adversity. …”

Perceived neighborhood food access is associated with consumption of animal-flesh food, fruits and vegetables among mothers and young children in peri-urban Cambodia
Publicado 2022“…Conclusions: Mothers' perceived neighborhood food access was an important predictor of their own and their young children's nutrient-rich food consumption in peri-urban Cambodia. Future work is needed to confirm our findings in other urban settings and examine the role of neighborhood food environment on the consumption of both nutrient-rich and nutrient-poor food.…”

Integrated natural resource management research in the CGIAR: a brief report on the INRM Workshop held in Penang, Malaysia, 21-25 August 2000
Publicado 2000“…At the Penang meeting, the participants discussed the conceptual underpinnings of INRM as well as how it might be undertaken or expanded to help the CGIAR fulfill its mission of improving food security and reducing poverty without causing lasting damage to the environment. Topics of discussion included the need to shift from empirical to process-oriented research and to use system approaches, to focus on ways of making ecosystems and natural resources managers such as farmers and others more capable of adapting positively in response to change, to work at multiple scales, and to suggest ways of dealing with the tradeoffs that are inevitable in various resource management options. …”

The spatial ecology of free-ranging domestic pigs (Sus scrofa) in western Kenya
Publicado 2013“…Control policies for diseases such as Taenia solium, Trypanosomiasis, Trichinellosis, Toxoplasmosis or African Swine Fever therefore require a community-wide focus and pig farmers require education on the inherent risks of keeping pigs under a free range system. The work presented here will enable future research to incorporate movement data into studies of disease transmission, for example for the understanding of transmission of African Swine Fever between individuals, or in relation to the life-cycle of parasites including Taenia solium.…”
