Does inflation targeting matter for the behavior of inflation and output growth? Some regime-based evidence for Asian economies
Publicado 2018“…PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to consider whether or not the introduction of inflation targeting (IT) impacts on the mean-reversion properties of inflation and output growth.Design/methodology/approachFocusing on eight Asian countries of which four are inflation-targeters, the authors employ a two-state Markov-switching model which characterizes the behavior of inflation and output growth as regime-dependent based on periods of stationarity or non-stationarity.FindingsIn contrast to a literature that offers mixed findings, the authors find the presence of stationary inflation and output growth in one regime for all IT countries, except for South Korea which is characterized by stationary output growth in both regimes. …”

Genomes of 13 domesticated and wild rice relatives highlight genetic conservation, turnover and innovation across the genus Oryza
Publicado 2018“…Using 13 reference genomes spanning the Oryza species tree, we show that despite few large-scale chromosomal rearrangements rapid species diversification is mirrored by lineage-specific emergence and turnover of many novel elements, including transposons, and potential new coding and noncoding genes. …”

Identifying recommendation domains for targeting dual-purpose maize-based interventions in crop-livestock systems in East Africa
Publicado 2008“…Several lessons were learnt from the process, including the increased utility of targeting when the bio-physical and socio-economic are freely combined, and the continued need for baseline spatial data to improve the targeting of research in the future that is designed to improve the livelihoods of poor livestock keepers in East-Africa.…”
