High-density molecular characterisation and association mapping in Ethiopian durum wheat landraces reveals high diversity and potential for wheat breeding
Publicado 2016“…We identify several loci underpinning agronomic traits of interest, both confirming loci already reported and describing new promising genomic regions. These loci may be efficiently targeted with molecular markers already available to conduct marker assisted selection in Ethiopian and international wheat. …”

Male and female inheritance patterns in tetraploid 'Moncada' mandarin
Publicado 2020“…Significant doubled reduction (DR) rates were observed in five linkage groups as female parent, and in six linkage groups as male parent. The new knowledge generated here will serve to define crossing strategies in citrus improvement programs to efficiently obtain new varieties of interest in the global fresh consumption market.…”

Breeding by selective introgression: Theory, practices, and lessons learned from rice
Publicado 2021“…BBSI has three phases: a) developing large numbers of trait-specific introgression lines (ILs) using backcross breeding in elite genetic backgrounds as the material platform of BBD; b) efficiently identifying genes or quantitative trait loci (QTL) and mining desirable alleles affecting different target traits from diverse donors as the information platform of BBD; and c) developing superior cultivars by BBD using designed QTL pyramiding or marker assisted recurrent selection. Phase (a) has been implemented massively in rice by many Chinese research institutions and IRRI, resulting in the development of many new green super rice cultivars plus large numbers of ILs in 30 + elite genetic backgrounds. …”
