Hydroclimatic extremes and food security hotspots in West Africa: evidence from rainfall–yield interactions
Publicado 2025“…In the Sahelian and Sudanian zones, seasonal rainfall increased by 5%–25% since the 1990s and up to 80% in the Northern Sahel by 2024, largely driven by more frequent wet days and intensified rainfall events. …”

Association mapping and candidate gene identification for drought tolerance in sorghum
Publicado 2025“…A genome-wide association study (GWAS) on 32 growth and 19 STC traits identified 22 loci, 19 of which were mapped to the STC traits, and 17 of these 19 were associated with STC of shoot weight. Eleven of the 22 loci were collocated with 23 previously identified mapped drought-related quantitative trait loci (QTLs); 15 of these 23 QTLs were mapped to green leaf area, total number of green leaves, or chlorophyll content. …”

Towards low-emission food systems in Guinea: A country profile
Publicado 2026“…The analysis shows that Guinea’s food system emissions are dominated by farm-gate sources—particularly livestock methane, rice cultivation, and manure-related emissions—followed by land-use change driven largely by shifting cultivation and agricultural expansion, while emissions beyond the farm gate remain smaller but are increasing in urban areas due to waste disposal and energy use. …”

Enhanced discrimination of African swine fever virus isolates through nucleotide sequencing of the p54, p72, and pB602L (CVR) genes
Publicado 2009“…Animals from Western and central Kenya were confirmed as being infected with ASFV using a p72 gene-based PCR assay, following outbreaks of severe hemorrhagic disease in domestic pigs in 2006 and 2007. Eleven hemadsorbing viruses were isolated in macrophage culture and genotyped using a combination of full-length p54-gene sequencing, partial p72-gene sequencing, and analysis of tetrameric amino acid repeat regions within the variable region of the B602L gene (CVR). …”
