Plant microRNAs: Recent Advances and Future Challenges
Published 2018“…MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small ∼20–24 nt species of non-coding RNAs that modulate plant gene expression by means of gene silencing through sequence-specific inhibition of target mRNAs. MiRNAs derive from pol-II transcription of non-coding genes that are precisely processed in nuclear Dicing bodies by a microprocessor complex (dicer-like1–serrate–hyponastic leaves 1: DCL1-SE-HYL1), which recognizes stem-loop secondary-structure features of primary precursor miRNA transcripts (pri-miRNA). …”

A contribution to understanding the origin of platy structure in silty soils under no tillage
Published 2017“…The five-year field experiment was carried out on a Typic Argiudoll under NT and the structure of the A horizon was analyzed using visual soil evaluation (VSE) both before and five years after two traffic levels were applied to four crop sequences. The laboratory experiment of w-d cycles was carried out with two disturbed layers of a Typic Argiudoll, which was repacked to achieve two different bulk densities, and the columns were subjected to 5, 10, or 15 w-d cycles. …”

Discrimination of Stem-Pitting from Other Isolates of Citrus tristeza virus
Published 2021“…Three nucleic acid based and one serological technique were evaluated as diagnostic tools using isolates from the Florida and the USDAARS international CTV isolate collections that caused stem-pitting symptoms in citrus indicators. Sequence specific primers for amplifying CTV genome fragment PM33 and RF137 (from type II isolates of CTV) and genome fragment VT-1, and oligonucleotide probes (ONP) III, IV and V for hybridization studies gave positive results with many isolates that caused stem pitting in sweet orange, grapefruit or both. …”

Functional analysis of polyketide synthases in the biocontrol fungus Clonosthachys rosea
Published 2017“…Clonostachys rosea, a filamentous ascomycete, is a well-known biological control agent (BCA) against a wide range of plant pathogenic fungi. Genome sequencing revealed that C. rosea strain IK726 possess 32 genes encoding for polyketide synthases (PKS), which is significantly higher than the more studied biocontrol fungi Trichoderma. …”
