Tariff Analytical and Simulation Tool for Economists (TASTE) por Horridge, Mark, Laborde Debucquet, David

“…The current version of TASTE uses the MAcMApHS6 version 2 data, and is designed to accompany the version 7 GTAP database. The TASTE program itself reads the enormous dataset and performs various operations using optimized routines, in particular:(1) Computing aggregated tariffs; (2) Transformation of scenarios about formula-based changes in bound rates into files of percent change shocks to applied rates -- which could be used by different models such as RunGTAP; (3) Generation of matrices of splitting weights which could be used to split a sector in the trade matrices of a GTAP model database (maybe using the SplitCom method).…”

“…The images obtained with the x-ray machine were analysed using the computer program ImageJ. The main outcomes of this project were found to be: (a) the infiltration patterns through bare and garden soil samples remained identical throughout different irrigations runs while they changed in the sown soil samples; (b) high irrigation rates reduced the wetting front tortuosity; (c) the tortuosity of the wetting front increased with time; (d) macroporosity and initial water content strongly influenced the water infiltration velocity through the soil, the bigger they were the higher the infiltration velocity; (e) plants roots and long consolidation times exerted a stabilizing effect on the soil structure. …”
