  1. Genetic and expression analysis of cattle identifies candidate genes in pathways responding to Trypanosoma congolense infection por Noyes, H.A., Brass, A., Obara, Isaiah, Anderson, S.I., Archibald, A.L., Bradley, D.G., Fisher, P., Freeman, A.R., Gibson, John P., Gicheru, M., Hall, L., Hanotte, Olivier H., Hulme, H., McKeever, Declan J., Murray, C., Oh, S.J., Tate, C., Smith, K.C., Tapio, M., Wambugu, J., Williams, D., Agaba, Morris, Kemp, Stephen J.

    Publicado 2011
“…We review the global dynamics of livestock disease over the last two decades. Our imperfect ability to detect and report disease hinders assessment of trends, but we suggest that, although endemic diseases continue their historic decline in wealthy countries, poor countries experience static or deteriorating animal health and epidemic diseases show both regression and expansion. …”

  2. The tricot citizen science approach applied to on-farm variety evaluation: methodological progress and perspectives por Etten, Jacob van, Abidin, E., Arnaud, Elizabeth, Brown, D., Carey, E., Laporte, Marie-Angélique, López Noriega, Isabel, Madriz, Brandon, Manners, Rhys, Ortíz Crespo, Berta, Quirós, C., Sousa, K. de, Teeken, Béla, Tufan, Hale Ann, Ulzen, J., Valle-Soto, J. F.

    Publicado 2020
“…Tricot (triadic comparisons of technologies) is a citizen science approach for testing technology options in their use environments, which is being applied to on-farm testing of crop varieties. Over the last years, important progress has been made on the tricot methodology of which an overview is given. …”

  3. Response to nitrogen fertilization of late-sown maize upon different winter previous crops por Salvagiotti, Fernando, Caviglia, Octavio, Bacigaluppo, Silvina, Barraco, Miriam Raquel, Boero, Leandro Ruben, Biassoni, María Micaela, Enrico, Juan Martin, Kehoe, Esteban, Eclesia, Roxana Paola, Madias, Andrés, Maltese, Nicolas, Melchiori, Ricardo Jose, Novelli, Leonardo Esteban, Prieto, Gabriel Maria, Ross, Fernando, Ruiz, Alejo, Carciocchi, Walter Daniel

    Publicado 2025
“…The results showed that (i) wheat caused a higher frequency (86 %) of yield response to N application in maize compared to other scenarios (average 60 %); (ii) no yield response to N was observed when soil N availability at sowing exceeded 175 kg N ha⁻¹ , regardless of the previous crop; (iii) maize following wheat showed the highest AONR and EONR, while maize following pea showed the lowest; (iv) there were no significant differences in NUE among winter crops, but the lowest PFP was observed after wheat; and (v) vetch biomass and N accumulation helped predict the yield response to N fertilization in the succeeding maize. …”

  4. How to measure, report and verify soil carbon change to realise the potential of soil carbon sequestration for atmospheric greenhouse gas removal por Smith, Pete, Soussana, Jean‐Francois, Angers, Denis, Schipper, Louis, Chenu, Claire, Rasse, Daniel P., Batjes, Niels H., Egmond, Fenny van, McNeill, Stephen, Kuhnert, Matthias, Arias Navarro, Cristina, Olesen, Jørgen E., Chirinda, Ngonidzashe, Fornara, Dario, Wollenberg, Eva Karoline, Álvaro Fuentes, Jorge, Sanz Cobena, Alberto, Klumpp, Katja

    Publicado 2020
“…We describe how repeat soil surveys are used to estimate changes in SOC over time, and how long‐term experiments and space‐for‐time‐substitution sites can serve as sources of knowledge and can be used to test models, and as potential benchmark sites in global frameworks to estimate SOC change. …”

  5. Managing aquifer recharge and sustaining groundwater use: developing a capacity building program for creating local groundwater champions por Jadeja, J, Maheshwari, B., Packham, R., Bohra, H., Purohit, R., Thaker, B., Dillon, P., Oza, S., Dave, S., Soni, P., Dashora, Y., Dashora, R., Shah, Tushaar, Gorsiya, J., Katara, P., Ward, J., Kookana, R., Singh, P.K., Chinnasamy, Pennan, Goradiya, V., Prathapar, Sanmugam A., Varua, M., Chew, M.

    Publicado 2018
“…The study has highlighted that with a well-designed program of capacity building and on-going support through training and nurturing, BJs can play an important role in monitoring watertable depth and other data for estimating groundwater recharge, leading to a sharing of the groundwater information with the local village community to influence the sustainable use of groundwater. Overall they can act as local champions for groundwater futures. …”
