Equations of bark thickness and volume profiles at different heights with easy-measurement variables
Publicado 2022“…Moreover, a bark coefficient was made to calculate volume with and without bark of individual trees, where significant differences according to site quality of the stands and DBH class of the trees were observed. It can be concluded that the prediction of bark thickness and bark coefficient is possible using DBH, height, site quality and growth phase, common and easy measurement variables used in forest inventories.…”

Can early thinning and pruning lessen the impact of pine plantations on beetle and ant diversity in the Patagonian steppe?
Publicado 2018“…We compared the abundance, species richness and composition of the beetle and ant assemblages within 16-year-old pine stands (n = 10) subjected to early pruning and thinning (i.e. before canopy closure) against a steppe habitat exposed to sheep grazing (‘control’, n = 10). …”

Glossy privet (Ligustrum lucidum) invasion decreases Chaco Serrano forest bird diversity but favors its seed dispersers
Publicado 2020“…Glossy privet (Ligustrum lucidum) is an aggressive invasive plant that replaces native forests and forms dense stands without understory in central Argentina. However, the consequences of these changes in terms of vegetation structure and composition in bird communities are unknown. …”

Changes in Swedish spruce forests since 1986 from a reindeer husbandry perspective
Publicado 2020“…There has been a decline of spruce (Picea spp.) forests within the reindeer husbandry area and the importance of those habitats for reindeers has been neglected through planning in favour of lichen rich pine stands. The aim of this study is to describe the change of spruce forests within the reindeer husbandry area with focus on changes over time in field layer, age distribution and relative stocking level. …”
